Faith?
As a nurse, I work with many different people from many different backgrounds, races, ethnic groups, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Each person is different, yet they all have one thing in common, faith. Although some of them do not identify as “Christians” or “religious” or even “spiritual”, they all have some sort of faith, that they will “get” better, or they will be healed, or their body will restore itself. Which makes me wonder, “How can you have faith in your body being healed, but no faith in our Heavenly Father? These individuals have faith that a miraculous or “lucky” event will occur and they will be able to return to their normal lifestyle.
Being that each individual has some sort of “faith” makes me believe that as humans we are born with an aspiration to have “faith” in something or someone, rather it be Jesus, our money, our jobs, or families, we all have “faith” that something will go our way or someone will do what is expected of them. But, if you are going to put so much time and effort in one individual or thing, shouldn’t you just put all your faith in Jesus? The one who will always be there for you and lead you through all trials and tribulations? How blessed are we that we are able to serve a forgiving and merciful God? Although we all fall short and sin daily, including myself, he still loves us and wants to cover each of us with his love.
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. Romans 10:10
